What funding is available for cricket facilities?

Though many schools, clubs and universities fund their cricket facility projects through private or capital expenditure, there are some cricket-specific funding options available to clubs.

ECB Emergency Support Programmes

The ECB have created emergency grant and loan programmes for affiliated cricket clubs who have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

  • The Return To Cricket Grant Scheme will grant funds (based on assessment) of up to £3,000 for eligible clubs.
  • The Emergency Loan Scheme can provide loans of up to £50,000 for clubs with a Junior Section.
  • The ECB League Emergency Loan Scheme can support eligible affiliated cricket league clubs with loans up to £50,000.

Find out more about these three schemes here.

EWCT Interest Free Loan Scheme

The England and Wales Cricket Trust (EWCT) provides finance to clubs for capital projects, including non-turf and fine turf practice and match play facilities.

All ECB affiliated cricket clubs are eligible for the scheme, with other organisations eligible if they are able to provide evidence of achievement of the EWCT’s charitable aims.

Financing for cricket facilities

In exclusive partnership with Buckingham Leasing, we now offer eligible clients the option to fund, build and maintain their cricket facilities through one point of contact.

Together we offer three flexible finance solutions to help schools, clubs and local authorities (subject to approval) to spread the cost of investing in cricket facilities over time.

You can find out more about each of our finance options below:

Through one of our finance solutions, you can spread the cost of your new facility – or the cost of refurbishment – with fixed repayments over a period of 1-7 years.

With additional benefits such as no-deposit options, deferred payment and the option to reclaim VAT from the offset*, you can finance your facility with low up front costs and regular repayments, allowing you to reinvest capital expenditure into other areas of your organisation.

*Some benefits are only available on specific finance options, please check the individual pages for more detail.
