Celebrating our 30th anniversary in 2021, the family heritage in sporting excellence spans far further back. View our timeline below to see some of the company’s highlights over the last 30 years!
For S&C Slatter, taking our expertise in sports pitch construction and realising the demand for multi-usage sports pitches increasing, we explored how to utilise that knowledge, quality and drive for excellence that we bring to our sports pitch construction in the fields of Football, Rugby, and Cricket and build something equally beautiful and capable in the field of hockey. Under David’s leadership, the company constructed their first full-sized sand-dressed hockey pitch, and the results were something spectacular.
At its heart, S&C Slatter is a family business with expertise and knowledge passed down from Father to Son, with the first of Stephen’s sons Philip Slatter joining the company at 16 years old. And we are pleased that this tradition continues with the last of Stephen’s three sons finally joining the family company, Mark Slatter, in 2001.
S&C Slatter are selected by Willmott Dixon to construct a new full-sized artificial turf pitch and playing courts at St. Bartholomew’s School, marking the third generation of Slatter facility at the school. William Slatter constructed the school’s cricket pitches in the past, which Stephen Slatter then took over!
S&C Slatter deliver their largest project to date. The £4.3m Elmbridge Xcel Sports Hub utilised much of our full service offering, incorporating design, artificial turf pitches, natural turf pitches, athletics track with natural turf infield, access roadways, car parks and ancillary works.
S&C Slatter are selected to bring Major League Baseball to Europe for the first time, transforming The London Stadium into Europe’s largest ballpark. The inaugural MLB London Series sees iconic teams New York Yankees take on the Boston Red Sox, with 60,000 fans in attendance.
With the growth of The Slatter Group, David Slatter moves into a CEO role across the group, appointing Ben O’Connor as the new Managing Director of S&C Slatter.
S&C Slatter, in partnership with FieldTurf, are once again selected for the Football Foundation AGP Framework, one of the only suppliers to feature on all three cycles.
