Although the majority of rugby pitch construction projects are delivered through private funding or capital expenditure, there are a number of funding and finance options available to schools, clubs and leisure operators.
RFU Loans
The RFU offer emergency loans for RFU Voting clubs that are facing cash flow challenges as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The loans are interest free and repayable over a period of up to 3 years, with deferred payment options.
Eligible clubs can apply for a loan between £2,000 – £10,000 through the scheme. Find out more.
RFU Grant Finder
If you are an RFU club, a useful tool is the RFU Grant Finder, which allows you to search through a database of thousands of grants and loans that could help your club.
RLWC 2021 Capital Grants Programme
Under the RLWC Capital Grants Programme, organisations can apply for ‘small scale’ funding (up to £15,000) to help with equipment, improvements and repairs to existing RFL facilities.
Organisations can also apply for ‘large scale’ funding (Over £15,000) which can be used to fund new or existing natural and artificial turf rugby pitches.
