S&C Slatter are experts in the design, construction and maintenance of artificial turf rugby pitches, working in exclusive partnership with FieldTurf, World Rugby Preferred Turf Producers.
Working with clients across the sports, leisure and education sectors, we’re experienced in constructing pitches for clients that have been wholly or partly funded by grants from governing bodies, local authorities or through specialist finance.
Read more below on available funding for rugby pitches or get in touch to discuss your project.
Although the majority of rugby pitch construction projects are delivered through private funding or capital expenditure, there are a number of funding and finance options available to schools, clubs and leisure operators.
The RFU offer emergency loans for RFU Voting clubs that are facing cash flow challenges as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The loans are interest free and repayable over a period of up to 3 years, with deferred payment options.
Eligible clubs can apply for a loan between £2,000 – £10,000 through the scheme. Find out more.

RLWC 2021 Capital Grants Programme
Under the RLWC Capital Grants Programme, organisations can apply for ‘small scale’ funding (up to £15,000) to help with equipment, improvements and repairs to existing RFL facilities.
Organisations can also apply for ‘large scale’ funding (Over £15,000) which can be used to fund new or existing natural and artificial turf rugby pitches.

For clients across the sports, leisure and education sectors, we offer specialist finance solutions through our exclusive partnership with Buckingham Leasing.
Subject to approval, eligible clients can now fund, design, construct and maintain their new natural, hybrid or artificial turf rugby pitch through one dedicated point of contact.
Our three finance options allow you to spread the cost of your new facility over time:
Through one of our finance solutions, you may be able to finance your new 3G rugby pitch for as little as £5,000 a month, with low rate fixed repayments over a 7 year period.
With additional benefits such as no-deposit options, deferred payment and the option to reclaim VAT from the offset*, financing your facility is designed to help make the cost of sports construction more affordable, allowing you to reinvest capital expenditure in other projects.
*Some benefits are only available on specific finance options, please check the individual pages for more detail.
It’s not just new-build facilities either. You can finance or partially finance the cost of a pitch refurbishment, which is what the John Madejski Academy did when refurbishing their FIFA Quality 3G Pitch with a sports operating lease. Read the case study.
