S&C Slatter partner with PRO Padel Courts for UK Padel Offering

9th Sep 2021

We’re delighted to announce our new partnership with PRO Padel Courts, the UK’s Premier padel court manufacturer, for padel court construction in England and Wales

Meeting demand for the world’s fastest-growing sport

With more than 30 years’ expertise in sports facility design, construction, and maintenance, we combine heritage with innovation to offer clients the very latest technologies in both traditional and emerging sports, such as padel.

We’re proud to be partnering with PRO Padel Courts to design, construct and maintain high-quality padel courts in England and Wales.

Paul Regan, founder, PRO Padel Courts, commented:

“We are excited to be partnering with S&C Slatter, who have a first-class reputation built around the quality of their work over many years. We have many shared values and both parties pride themselves on delivering the best quality products and services to their clients. It is also imperative that our high quality padel court structures are placed on expertly constructed groundworks – and we know we can guarantee this with S&C Slatter.”

What is padel?

One of the world’s fastest-growing sports, padel is a racket sport combining elements of tennis and squash and is recognised by the LTA as “easy to play, fun and extremely sociable”. Boasting over 12 million players worldwide, the sport is suitable for all ages and abilities, perfect for encouraging participation in schools and for retaining and attracting new members for leisure centres and tennis clubs.

Padel forms part of the LTA’s key strategies to grow participation and, as the national governing body for padel, they plan to develop the growth of the sport, with a goal of 400 courts in place across Britain by 2023.

25% smaller than a traditional tennis court, padel courts take up less space, making them a great option to maximise underutilised space for sport in schools and clubs.

Padel built for the UK

With over 25 years’ experience in the global tennis industry, Paul Regan, founder of PRO Padel Courts, followed the growth of padel across Europe – and as interest in the UK began to rise, he recognised the need for a court designed to withstand the great British weather.

Where padel is most commonly played in temperate climates, imported padel courts can encounter issues such as rust and corrosion on UK soil, with drainage systems not suitable for all-weather performance.

PRO Padel Courts are the only padel courts manufactured in the UK and designed specifically for the UK’s climate. Using British steel and glass, courts are finished with unique zinc weatherproofing and come complete with a 10-year warranty against rust and corrosion.

Jason Douglass, Group Director, S&C Slatter, commented:

“With a commitment to work with the very best manufacturing partners in our industry, we are delighted to be partnering with PRO Padel Courts for padel court construction in England and Wales. We strive for constant innovation in both traditional and emerging sports, such as padel. We’re thrilled to be able to offer clients a one-stop solution for their padel needs, from initial design to planning, finance, construction and maintenance.”

With clients including The Roehampton Club and The Bourne club, PRO Padel Courts are designed for optimum performance, safety, and durability – whatever the weather.

We’re delighted to be embarking on this exciting new partnership with the premier UK manufacturer, offering first-class padel court construction for schools, universities, tennis clubs and leisure centres.
