The Challenge

Tormead School’s ambition was to consolidate and elevate its sports provision, reduce reliance on hired venues, and create a home ground worthy of its sporting aspirations.

With no permanent base for sport, students had to travel off-site to access facilities – limiting their time on the field and increasing costs. The school needed a comprehensive solution to house hockey, cricket, football, and athletics, while also supporting new sports development and community use.

The goal: a modern, multifunctional sports hub that would secure Tormead’s sporting future.

The Solution

We proposed a full end-to-end solution, managing the phased delivery of a new, state-of-the-art sports complex at the Urnfield site. Our plan addressed complex biodiversity and planning issues, careful scheduling to reduce the impact on local residents and detailed sporting specification requirements – all seamlessly integrating facilities for multiple sports.
